  40. This  document  contains  information on the CyReL Serial  Mouse  Utility  and 
  41. device driver that enhance the performance of your ATARI system.
  42.  
  43. A  utility program supports the operation of the computer by providing  system 
  44. management capabilities.  It extends the scope of the features provided by the 
  45. built-in operating system, making your working environment more responsive and 
  46. comfortable to use. A device driver is software that controls and communicates 
  47. directly   with  system  hardware,   hardware  expansion  modules  and   other 
  48. peripherals.

  50. With the CyReL Serial Mouse Manager software you can do the following:

  52.      = Customize and enhance your system.
  53.  
  54.      = Take advantage of industry standard high resolution serial mice
  55.        compatible with the MS-Mouse or PC-Mouse format.

  57.      = Use any of the built-in serial ports.
  58.  
  59.      = Utilize the advanced mouse speed control features including 
  60.        ballistic response, dynamic speed regulation and mouse 
  61.        resolution compensation.

  63.      = Use any graphics tablet compatible with the Summagraphics MM series.

  65.      = Improve performance of your operating system and interaction accuracy

  75. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  77. The  CyReL  Serial Mouse Driver and the Serial Mouse Manager are  included  in 
  78. one package. The installation of the driver and the utility will not interfere 
  79. with  the behaviour of the original ATARI (or ATARI compatible)  mouse.  After 
  80. the installation of the software,  either the serial or the original mouse may 
  81. be  used at any time.  Throughout this document,  serial mouse may  either  be 
  82. considered  a MS-Mouse compatible serial mouse,  a MSC compatible mouse  or  a 
  83. Summagraphics  MM  series graphic tablet or compatible product  emulating  the 
  84. operation of a mouse.

  86. This  package is being offered as a commercial product.  Refer to section  [G] 
  87. for  more information on how to order your copy or how to obtain a  free  demo 
  88. version. Licensing agreements are available.

  90. The software can be installed in any system supporting these requirements:
  91.  
  92.      = ATARI TOS1.2 or later
  93.      = at least one free RS-232 port operating at speeds up to 9600 baud.
  94.      = minimum screen resolution: 320x200
  95.      = DB-25 25-pin to DB-9 9-pin RS-232 adapter in case your system does 
  96.        not feature any 9-pin serial port required by most of the mice.
  97.        (Note: some serial mouse vendors include such interface adapters)
